tal tuition and ensembles - Terms and Conditions

As Parent/Guardian I understand that:

· I am responsible for making appropriate arrangements for bringing my child to lessons/rehearsals and for their safe return home afterwards. I will let the organiser know if my child is going to be allowed to walk home alone. I will also make similar arrangements for performances as required

· My specific permission will be sought for any activities outside the usual times and which could involve travel further afield, expenses and extended times

· All reasonable care will be taken of my child in respect of the activities of Stockport Music Service including medical attention should it be required and contact cannot be made with me in time (this is in case of emergencies only)

· I am responsible for notifying the organisers of any medical condition or physical disability pertaining to my child now and/or if it arises

· All pupils are covered by the Local Authority’s third party public liability insurance in respect of any claim arising from an accident caused by a defect on the rehearsal premises or equipment or attributable to negligence by the Authority or one of its employees/contractors. These arrangements do not provide personal accident cover

· My child will be under an obligation to obey all directions given by their teacher/group leaders and to follow the code of conduct for Music Service activities as set out and agreed by him/her

· From time to time Stockport Music Service may wish to take pictures or video images for publicity or training purposes and agree to this occurring on the understanding that all photographic or video media is taken in the context of an ensemble rehearsal, lesson or performance.

· Stockport Music Service is committed to ensuring the safety of all our staff, children and young people. Staff regularly undertake safeguarding training as directed by Stockport MBC. If you have any concerns or suggestions on how we can improve however then please contact the office.


YOUNG PERSON’S CODE OF CONDUCT

This is an expected code of conduct, for the person who signs below, to operate within Stockport Music Service Ensembles. It is important to follow rules like this so that everyone can work together without disruption and you can understand what to do, can learn better and keep yourself and others safe.

· Listen to the teacher/group leader, following instructions as they are given

· Be friendly, helpful and show good manners and good behaviour at all times

· Work together, co-operate with one another and have respect for other’s contributions

· Wear appropriate clothes for the activity eg no dangerous jewellery

· Do not bring toys, money or anything not needed for the activity to the sessions

· Have respect for equipment, resources and people. If not, this could lead to accidents

· Keep safe by observing the safety rules of the setting, to prevent accidents

· Let the organisers know in advance if you are not able to attend any lesson/session

· Whilst attending an ensemble session, do not leave your group without adult permission

· In cases of emergency, remain calm, quiet and do not panic. Listen to instructions given to you by your teacher/group leader
