Wind Bands bring together brass, woodwind and percussion instruments to form an ensemble that can play pretty much any style of music.  Sometimes referred to as concert bands, military bands or wind orchestras, there is a huge library of music for these groups and they provide our young musicians with opportunities to perform with other players and expand their abilities. 

Stockport Youth Wind Orchestra is for wind, brass and percussion players who are working from about Grade 5 or equivalent up to Grade 8+

Rehearsals happen every Wednesday in term time and we have lots of fun in rehearsals and perform in Music Centre concerts throughout the year. A wide variety of styles and genres are covered and players also have the opportunity to progress into the Greater Manchester Youth Wind Orchestra.

Stockport Youth Wind Orchestra is a great way to improve your musical skills , challenge yourself and also meet new friends.

Rehearsals take place on Wednesdays during term time from 6.00pm - 8.00 pm.
