Rockschool Junior:
This band is for children who are learning their instrument and want to try playing in a band. We focus on band skills, songs and perform in a gig at the end of each term. Children must be confident playing to a beat and singing on their own (if they are a singer). Drummers should be able to play grooves in 4/4 time. Bassists, guitarists and keyboard players need to be able to play and change between a range of chords/keys.
Rockschool Senior:
This band is for children who are playing around Grade 4 level and above on their instrument (you can ask their teacher of their approximate level if you are unsure) and can play and learn songs independently with some help from the group tutors. It is useful if children already have some band or group experience and we limit places to one instrument per band (except for guitars) so that they children get the most playing time and experience. We perform a gig at the end of each term and students are encouraged to suggest songs that they would like to learn in their band. We also facilitate students in writing their own songs and they are invited to take part in the Greater Manchester Music Hub Battle of the Bands each year.
Rehearsals are on every Monday during term time:
Rockschool Junior at 6.00 - 7.00 pm.
Rockschool Senior at 7.00 - 8.30 pm.
