Infant Music Makers takes place every Thursday during term time.. There are two sessions as follows:
Infant Voices - open to pupils who are in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.
A wide repertoire will be used to give children the enjoyment of singing together while finding their voices and learning to listen. Wide smiles, increasing confidence and fantastic performances are the aim as children learn to work together and express themselves.
Instrumental Provision - open to pupils who are in Year 1 and Year 2.
This is divided into two sections. First of all, the children choose one of the following
three instruments:
Violin – which is available in small sizes and therefore ideal for young players
pBuzz – a light and easily managed instrument, specially designed for young players as the first step towards playing a more traditional brass instrument
For the second part, all the children will take part in a Percussion and Musicianship session, involving both tuned and untuned percussion, rhythm and pitch games and movement to music. This will help them develop the good musicianship skills essential to learning any instrument.
